February may not be the most popular time to go for regular jogs around the block, especially when conditions can be icy and slippery. But as long as you dress suitably and choose the best time of day to go, even February jogs can be good for you.
Research shows that regular exercise not only improves your physical health but it can also improve your general sense of well-being, too.
Guidelines from the NHS recommend that adults between 19 and 64 should aim to do both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities on a weekly basis such as cycling, power walking, weight lifting and sit ups. Even some hobbies can count as exercise, like gardening or yoga.
Having a regular exercise routine is something that many celebrities endorse: you only need to look at Reese Witherspoon or Gwen Stefani to see the health benefits frequent exercise can have.
But if braving the cold just isn’t your thing, then you can always tune in to a favourite exercise DVD within the privacy of your own home. Late last year, Lydia Rose Bright and Sam and Billie Frairs – stars of the reality TV docu-soap The Only Way is Essex - released a fitness DVD featuring dance workouts, combat moves and toning exercises.
Speaking about the DVD, Billie told Female First: “We wanted to bring out a fitness DVD for all ages, so even working women like us can fit exercise into their busy daily routine. We are three normal girls that like to keep fit and have fun when working out together.”
Lydia agreed. “We all feel really toned and good in ourselves,” she said. When asked about must-haves for a good workout, she advised: “A good sports bra is essential, especially if you have big boobs, like Billie. And get a really good pair of trainers.”
As any fitness fan will know, investing in a good pair of footwear, like womens Reebok trainers, is also essential. Choosing a pair with the latest trainer technology will take into account your foot shape and movement patterns. Reebok shop at littlewoods.com has a variety of affordable sports shoes.
Most trainers are suitable for every kind of exercise whether it’s running, yoga or having a go at a fitness DVD. So, however you prefer to get fit make sure you do it regularly, safely and in the right clothing and footwear!
